Funny that it`s called `Bringsle`in english, because here we call it `Bringsler` - very simular!
I myself don`t have a bringsle dog and the method itself is rather seldom.
Anyhow... her are some links (even in english

Thanks Gunther I found that really interesting.
Should we be looking at insuring the team as a whole or having our own separate insurance for the dogs, any advice would be gratefully received on this.

Joe
You should be looking to have a minimum of Public Liability Insurance, however our team also pays for personal accident insurance for dog and handler.

Hi Gunther
Thanks really good, I love that idea - for me who's a touch wary of dogs, it's fantastic - it means the dog won't jump up at you nor will it bark!
What are your thoughts on it?

It would be a good idea for you Mojo, I will try and look further into it.
Gunther, do you know if there is only one size of these available, also, I take it they attach to the collar, and will easily break off if they get snagged. I'll be honest and say I don't like dogs working with collars on, coats are ok as they will tear away if caught.
I even carry a leather swatch in my pocket for putting over barbed wire fences so the dogs can get over without having to be lifted. My dog sits and waits for this to be put over the fence.

Hi Joe,
yes the bringsle come in differet shapes and sizes. You must find out for yourselves what your dog prefers most.
As with almost everything there are advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantage of a bringsle is definitely that the dog must have a collar on. Here in Germany we don`t usually let the dog search with a collar, because of the known dangers. When we do rubble search (hope that is the correct word) our dogs don`t even wear a jacket.

Hi Gunther,
I really like the idea behind a 'bringsle' - ideal for me who's a touch wary of dogs jumping up and barking. Have you ever trained a dog with a 'bringsle' and if so where did you start?
Good news from me - I went out yesterday with Joe's two dogs, one of which is going to be training, and I can't believe the differences in just two types of dogs. I just thought they all trained the same, so therefore would do exactly the same thing throughout looking for the MisPer - NOW I know different! Joe at one point blew her whistle and the dogs just stopped, turned to face her and sat down - no matter what she did they just wouldn't move! I just couldn't believe my eyes, and I don't think Joe did when my daughter was pretending to be a dog (?)
I know it's silly to post on here - but this was my first experience and I hope there are many more to come!

Hi Gunther, Thanks for that information. I have been reading about them on the internet and it is really interesting where they originated from and how they were used etc., and Mojo I'm glad you enjoyed your trip out with the dogs.
