Slip Leads

Postby Em & Poppy » Fri Mar 27, 2009 8:00 pm

I am after 2 slip leads, has anyone got any recommendations where to get them from? I have looked on the internet and ended up spoilt for choice! Has anyone got any advice for the length and type?

Hi Emma

I have brought a few in the past for Jack, from Turner Richards website: www.turnerrichards.co.uk along with training dummie's and whistle's... good website for working dogs. [ninja] ..... You can also buy slip leads from country shows, i.e Highclere

I hope this is of some use.

Hi Em,

I've got a couple, one came from moss end and the other I got from Annette when she got some made by a friend of hers.

One is about 3ft the other is 6ft....I use the 6ft one all the time now, with a karabiner on the handle, so you can double it up if you want more control.

The other thing to watch, is the material, if you get a cheap nylon one, then you will get rope burn from it.

You can get a nice soft leather slip lead from Pets at Home. They are a bit on the expensive side, but I think they are worth it.
