searching for training

Postby jmgntl » Mon Feb 21, 2011 7:29 pm

Hello all,

My name is Julie and am new here. I would like to get some information on how to become a dog handler. I have done some searching around and have only found one school near me that i could attend. This school is in the Columbus area, and it roughly costs 3k to attend. Is this typically the average cost for training? The cost of this seems to be expensive, but yet i have no idea about any other courses or their costs. I have no idea what steps to take, and cant seem to find any other schools or training in my area that I could attend. Also I do not want to fall into a program that is not reputable. I'am stuck. Please let me know if anyone knows of any schools, training classes in the Columbus Ohio area.

Thanks Julie

Hi Julie

Welcome to the forum!

Most of us are members of voluntary K9 SAR organisations and Im based in the UK.

If you are looking to join as a volunteer I would suggest contacting a local team - Maybe http://www.vsar.org/ ?

Good luck!!
