Working Cocker Spaniel needs Good Home

Wed Mar 07, 2012 12:09 pm

I have been contacted by a member of the public who is looking for a very good, loving home for their Working Cocker, Sweepie. If anyone is interested in her, please let me know and I will give you the owner's details (they live in Berkshire).

This is what they say about her:

We have a 6mth old Working Cocker Spaniel who is super intelligent and very busy. She would be ideal for search and rescue/drug. Unfortunately she is too busy for our other dogs as they just want a peaceful life really. Would you be interested in having her for Search and Rescue. She would be free. I am not trying to dump her on anyone because she deserves the best. She is 6 mths old and has a fabulous, loving "I will do anything you want" temperament. I can honestly
say whoever has her will be made for life because she's adorable and so beautiful too. She has also had her
injections.

Why are we parting with her? Well we are both in our 60s and we have two older dogs who she wants to play with. Both are Lhasa Apso's and are built for beauty and not for brains.

She is lovely, isn't she! Just a good home, I think, Pol. They originally offered to give her to the Team, not realising that all our dogs are pets.

Have had a follow up email from the owners - they reiterated that this young lady is very much a working dog and would need to be doing something. She's not right for anyone looking for purely a pet. This is why the couple that have her are wanting to rehome her, they didn't realise they were buying a working dog.

They have also contacted the police dog section and flyball teams to see if there is any interest from them. They really are determined to find her the right home.

Don't worry Polly. Loki is going to be a Dad later this year so there will be proper collie pups looking at you with appealing gorgeous eyes!
